Children's Ministry
Zion is excited to offer a Sunday school program at our 10:45 Praise Service here at Zion. We believe that as a parent or other caring adult, you are one of the most influential people in your child’s life. This holds true for all areas, but especially in forming your child’s identity and understanding of the world.
Jesus says in Matthew 18:3 “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.
We enjoy the opportunity to partner with parents so they may learn to cooperate with whatever God desires to do in their hearts. In turn, their children will have a front-row seat to the grace and goodness of God.
Our Curriculum
Zion is using a faith formation resource called Living the Word, from Spirit and Truth Publishing.
Teaching Kids God’s Story, which follows a set of Bible readings often used in worship called the Narrative Lectionary.
Living the Word: Kids teaches children about God’s love for the whole world using the same readings the pastor will be preaching about in the worship services.
Each child brings home from Sunday school a weekly, two-page sheet called “The Story @ Home.” This take-home sheet is a tool that you can use to keep up on what your child is learning, and to grow together spiritually as a family.

Would You Like To Be P.A.R.T. Of The Kids For Christ Volunteer Team?
At Zion, we want all of our volunteers to:
Prepare – Prayed up, fired up, and ready to serve. Wear your Kids For Christ t-shirt and read over your lesson prior to arriving to serve.
Arrive – Arriving 20 minutes prior to your serve time will start you off on the right foot. Arriving early allows staff to assess needs, enables fellow volunteers you are collaborating with to get acclimated, and allows you to grab a cup of coffee (which is vital 😊)
Remember – Your role is important as you lead kids! Leading children involves your heart, character, motivation, awareness, and energy. Most things a child learns are “caught”, not taught. Be a role model worth catching!
Teach – Teach with the end in mind. One hundred years from now, the only thing that will matter in a child’s life is their relationship with Jesus. How will you contribute to that?
As a part of the team, you’ll be expected to attend church regularly and continually grow in your faith so that you may be equipped to share the love of Jesus with children!
